Summer's End - Van Nuys, CA, 2008 - J. Waggle

Kneeling Man

I
woke up this morning
And got down on my knees
Tried
to close my eyes
But I don't know how to dream
Need
to go outside
So I pull up on my jeans
They
use to fit
But now they hang off of me

I
apologize but you
know I've got to breathe
You
look at me
like I've got a bad disease
I
can feel the sun
through the cemetery trees
Now
I hear the wind
through the falling autumn leaves

I
can see the moment
when you chase after me
A
golden moment
like movies ought to be
A
flash of red
as I fall into the sea
I'm
back in bed
And I want you to believe
want you to believe
want you to believe
